Levi Hospital Donates Supplies to Local Organizations Ahead of August Closure
Hot Springs, AR — As Levi Hospital prepares to close, the institution has launched a largescale effort to donate remaining supplies and equipment to local nonprofits, healthcare providers, and schools. The effort comes as Levi transitions from patient care to the Levi Foundation, a nonprofit focused on improving behavioral health outcomes and addressing broader social determinants of health in Garland County.
“Our priority during this transition is to support the community however we can,” said Keri Crenshaw, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Levi Hospital. “It’s been uplifting to see organizations identify what they need and advocate for others in our community.”
Since the beginning of July, Levi Hospital has redistributed surplus medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, office furnishings, and commercial kitchen equipment–among other assets–to local organizations, including Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic (CCMC), National Park Medical Center (NPMC), National Park College (NPC), the Hot Springs Community Resource Center, Harbor House, Gateway Allied Health, Smith Drug and Compounding, and the Salvation Army.
“NPMC and Levi Hospital have been neighbors for generations with shared goals of serving our community and helping those in need,” said Brandon Coggins, Director of Pharmacy at NPMC. “We’re grateful for their generous in-kind donations to local organizations like ours and wish the Levi Foundation continued success in making a meaningful impact where it’s needed most.”
NPMC received several cases of unit-dose medications, crash cart supplies, fluids, and injectables from Levi through its donation initiative. Additional medications are expected to be delivered in the coming days as coordination continues between both teams.
“While we are saddened to see Levi Hospital close its doors, we are incredibly grateful for the long-standing partnership National Park College has shared with Levi over the years,” said Janice Ivers, Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences at NPC. “We’re honored to receive these generous donations—resources that will support our students as they pursue careers in nursing, radiologic technology, respiratory care, medical lab technology, paramedic, and EMT.”
Chris Joannides, Director of the Hot Springs Community Resource Center, noted that items such as office supplies, kitchen equipment, bed frames, and shelving will directly support shelter operations and daily programs. Rhoda McMoran, a pharmacist at CCMC, said the donated medical and pharmacy supplies are vital to their work. “These resources directly support our ability to care for patients who face significant barriers to healthcare. Levi’s generosity and commitment to helping those most in need mean so much to our team and the community we serve.”
Donation efforts remain underway as Levi Hospital prepares to conclude all patient services on August 1st, with remaining supplies and equipment being distributed to local nonprofits and community organizations.
