About Us
We Invest in Early Solutions for Lasting Community Well-Being
To create lasting impact in our community by advancing behavioral health support and by addressing the social factors that shape well-being, guided by our Jewish tradition of service and care.
Our vision is to see a resilient Garland County where every individual is given the opportunity to access resources to heal, thrive, and break the cycle of behavioral health challenges—driving lasting change for a healthier community.
Guided by Principles That Keep People At the Center
The Levi Community Foundation is built on the same core values that guided our legacy of care. These principles shape every decision we make and every relationship we form.
Empathy
We listen deeply and act with compassion, honoring the real needs of people and communities.
Proactivity
We invest in solutions before systems fail, focusing on long-term impact rather than short-term fixes.
Integrity
We hold ourselves accountable to our mission, making honest and transparent choices—even when difficult.
Collaboration
We believe lasting change happens together, so we support nonprofits and community leaders to maximize impact.
From 1914 to Now
Leo N. Levi Memorial Hospital opened in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with a mission to provide charitable care for those suffering from rheumatic and related conditions. Built through the efforts of B’nai B’rith leaders and sustained by community support, it grew over the decades into a nationally recognized arthritis specialty hospital, expanding services to include outpatient care, physical therapy, pediatric treatment, and medical education.
As healthcare evolved, so did Levi. After more than a century of service, patient care concluded in 2025, and the organization transitioned into the Levi Community Foundation—carrying forward its enduring commitment to access, compassion, and community well-being, grounded in the belief that what makes Levi lasting is the care extended to every person it serves.
Leading with Purpose
Libby Harrington
Executive Director
Libby is the Executive Director of the Levi Community Foundation, a role that brings together her organizational skills, community relationships, and commitment to supporting the most vulnerable.
She previously served as Marketing Director at Levi Hospital, where she gained an understanding of Levi’s heart and history as well as the level of care required for individuals facing severe behavioral health challenges. Before that, her work at Garland County Habitat for Humanity gave her firsthand insight into the ongoing need for affordable housing, something she saw reflected in both Levi patients and the broader community. Staying connected with other nonprofits has also helped her understand the complexity of crisis situations and the reality that every person’s needs and healing journey are different.
As she carries the Levi legacy forward, she is eager to help build momentum in the local nonprofit community and looks forward to developing new partnerships through funding, collaboration, and programs that can support a healthier community for all.
