1976: August 22 — Academy Award–winning actress Joan Fontaine participated in the official groundbreaking for a new hospital addition, which included two new floors to the Harrison Wing of the Leo N. Levi National Arthritis Hospital.

1977: Spring — Entertainer Pat Boone made a celebrity visit to the hospital.

1970s: Levi Towers senior housing developed.
